Benefits of Oatmeal
So, what are the benefits of oatmeal?
Oatmeal is a great super food! It starts your day off with fiber, tastes great, and has a very low calorie count.
I’m talking about the old fashioned kind of oatmeal you cook on the stove, not the instant packages (though those are still good for you, they are just a bit high in sugar).

Besides the many vitamins packed in, which include:
- vitamin E
- zinc
- selenium
- copper
- iron
- manganese
- magnesium
- and a good source of protein
...it has other wonderful benefits, as well.
Your daily dose of oatmeal acts like an intestinal broom.
The insoluble fiber it has in abundance breaks down as it passes through the digestive tract that traps substances related to high cholesterol and reduces cholesterol absorption into the bloodstream.
It also keeps us ...*ahem* ...regular.
You can use your favorite non-calorie sweetener. Fruit is an excellent way to sweeten your oatmeal, or if you want to work in a little more protein, you can add your favorite protein shake mix.
So, enjoy this excellent super food for breakfast (or any other time!) as a great start to your day!
