There are so many cinnamon health benefits enjoyed by people around the world. The more I research, the more I find!
It has a nice scent and looks great in a hot cup of cider, but the health benefits of cinnamon go far beyond that. Science is looking into many aspects of this spice that can benefit arthritis sufferers, people with high cholesterol and more!
There are many home remedies used with cinnamon. Some of the uses for cinnamon are:

• Helping relieve diarrhea.
• Helps fight the common cold.
• Reducing arthritis pain.
• Boosting memory and cognitive function.
• Helps Relieve toothaches.
• Eases headaches and migraine pain.
This useful spice also has anti-germ properties.
In a study at Kansas State University, apple juice contaminated with the E. coli bacteria was treated with ground cinnamon and the E. coli were destroyed by 99.5% after 3 days at room temperature! (http://mars.ark.com/~squeeze/cinnamon.html)
One study was done in Pakistan with diabetes type 2 sufferers who had remarkable improvement in their insulin and LDL cholesterol levels, but the study was for a short time with a small number of people, so the jury is still out on the benefits of cinnamon on this disease.(http://care.diabetesjournals.org/

I have read many claims that cinnamon can reduce your LDL, or bad cholesterol. The mayo clinic (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/cinnamon-lower-cholesterol/AN01438) states otherwise. They recommend a lifestyle of healthy eating, and exercise to reduce you bad cholesterol. They do state that cinnamon is a healthy way to add flavor to your food in place of salt or sugar.
It is also sold in capsule form if you’re not able to work it into your diet in its natural form.
However you get it into you, cinnamon health benefits can add a little extra “spice” to your life, so give it a try and let me know what you think!
