Cool Down Exercises
Cool down exercises are so important for the fitness woman. This process is also called "warming down".
When you work out, your body is in a state of exertion. Your exercises after the workout will gradually transition your body back to your pre workout condition.
Increased aerobic work causes veins within your muscles dilate to allow the increased blood to flow through the working muscles. These same veins return blood to the heart and help maintain your level of workout.
Suddenly stopping may cause your blood to pool in those dilated veins. This puts more strain on your heart while it works to get enough oxygen to the body and maintain blood pressure.
You could get dizzy or even pass out!
Not only will a good warm down make your heart happy, but it also helps remove the lactic acid that has built up in your muscles during your workout. The lactic acid can cause cramps and stiffness.
