Triceps Stretch

Fitness Woman gives Step-by-Step examples of each triceps stretch. There are a couple really good triceps stretch positions. Remember, for effective flexibility training, make sure you have warmed up first.


Across the Chest

“Tri” means three and these three muscles are on the back of your upper arm. They are responsible for straightening your arm at the elbow.

Bring your elbow across your body and use your other hand to draw it closer to your chest. Hold for 30 seconds then switch sides.



A good triceps stretch will help limber up the arm for anything that requires a bending of the elbow.
Back Reach

Raise your arm over your head and bend you elbow as if to scratch an itch on your upper middle back. Use your other hand to light press on your raise elbow and stabilize it.

You can lean to the side, very slightly, away from the over head arm to increase the intensity. Hold for 30 seconds then switch to the other arm.

You should never experience pain with these moves. If you do, ease off or try the other one. Remember, it's never too late to begin becoming the Fitness Woman you deserve to be!
